“Hey now, look at that”
Mark Nispel is a typical 40+ year old Nebraskan, residing among a family of six, excluding pets, who runs, plays volleyball, enjoys college football and baseball, constantly works with technology, and happens to like to read a little Greek, Hebrew, Latin, and German.
Professionally, I earn my bread and water by writing and managing writers of embedded software for two way wireless communication products.
By education I have a BSEE (Electrical Engineering - 1988), a MA in Classics (1997), and a PhD in ancient/medieval history (2003), specializing in religious history, esp. early Christian history (1st to 4th centuries) with additional interest in the 16th century Lutheran Reformation.
Intellectually I am most keenly interested in matters linguistic, historical, theological, and technological. More precisely, I really enjoy the history of ideas within Christianity (as they would say in the history department) or doctrinal / dogmatic development (as the theologians would say it), and evaluating contemporary societal and theological debates against that background.
